KEN
KAMLET has worked on, off and behind the stages of
many theatres in New York City and around the country including Lincoln
Center, Holmdel Theatre, The Unicorn, Centerstage and many more. He
has served as a producer or associate producer on a variety of projects
including the 2 biggest box office success of Dorset Theatre Festival’s
26-year history: Ten Little Indians and Noises Off. Also for
DTF: Art, Redwood Curtain, O The Days! (world
premiere), the 2001 Kids Theatre series and the New Dorset Playhouse
Dedication Gala (featuring Treat Williams, Norman Lear and Edgar Lansbury).
Other favorite projects have included Ensemble Studio Theatre’s 25th
Anniversary Gala (featuring Jason Robards, Carol Channing & Al Hirshfeld),
Summer Virgins/Some Are Not (also for EST), Year of Pilgrimage
and So Careless (both for 5 Men/5 Women, Inc.) and he produced the documentary film "Setting the Stage for a New Century" for
American Theatre Works, Inc.
An accomplished writer, Ken’s play Regular has
received 2 New York City productions and was selected as a finalist in the
ACT (Anaheim, CA) 2005 playwriting contest. He has written features for many
publications including Spotlight, Borscht, Tennis Magazine
and America Online. His tribute to stage director Jill Charles was presented to
the President of the United States by Senator James Jeffords on the U.S. Senate floor and was recently entered in the
United States Congressional Record.
As an actor, Ken's favorite roles have included Tom in The
Glass Menagerie, Buddy in Come Blow Your Horn, Stephen in
Eastern Standard and Khlestekov in The Inspector General.
TV credits include "Last Laugh" (PBS), "Tattinger's" (NBC), "As The World
Turns" (CBS) and commercials for the U.S. Armed Forces, 1-800-SaveAPet, Dr.
Pepper. Films include Salute to Life and Our Little Comrades
and has most recentl been seen in the title role of the indie feature
David Goes To Work and as a network newscaster in Mysteries of the
Apocalypse.
Ken recently re-located to L.A. and is currently on the the
Advisory Board of Culver City Public Theatre.
